What is slide switch?

A slide switch is a type of electrical switch that is operated by sliding a small lever or knob from one position to another. It is a two-position switch, meaning that it can only be in one of two states or positions.

Slide switches are commonly used to control power to a device, to select between different modes or settings, or to switch between different sources of input or output. They are typically small and compact, making them ideal for use in electronic devices and circuits where space is limited.

Slide switches can come in a variety of configurations, such as single-pole single-throw (SPST), single-pole double-throw (SPDT), and double-pole double-throw (DPDT), among others. SPST switches have two terminals and can either be on or off, while SPDT switches have three terminals and can be used to switch between two different circuits. DPDT switches have six terminals and can be used to switch between two circuits at once.

Slide switches are commonly used in a variety of electronic devices, such as audio equipment, cameras, and handheld gaming consoles, as well as in industrial and commercial applications, such as control panels and machinery.
